You can deal with ants using peppermint or powder. Hmm, new WordPress plug-in?

Akismet always worked well for my needs

Maybe, I don’t use WP too much but think it was defaulted in the last copy I installed.
PS: Close with a colon followed by a capital P. Otherwise I’ll have to assume you’re simply dense 😛

I never knew how to install Akismet, searching the directory and working out how to hit the install link. There must be an easier way…

Well, that about as easy as it can get… then registering on their site for a free subscription for the activation key. Both steps are unlikely to be poor-eyesight friendly :/

It’s fine, I’m joking because I believe Akismet is installed by default..

I use Akismet, but there’s nothing that prevents spam, only catches it after the fact. Akismet is pretty good, but you still have to sometimes go in and mark comments as spam.

Yeah, but it’s the best at catching most in my experience. I wouldn’t use a system that thinks it’s smart enough to block them before saving the post to the database so I could review potential false-positives

What I mean by catching it before it gets posted, (and I know this is completely pie in the sky), is that spam just shouldn’t exist, period.
