Watching the schism between the “make fun of liquified billionaires” people and the “everyone deserves empathy” people has really made me appreciate growing up as the first American born son of Jewish Holocaust survivors, because I’ve always known that there’s evil in the world, not everyone deserves empathy, and it’s fucking great when you get to laugh at the bad people getting what they deserve. If you haven’t experienced enough tragedy to know these things too, I hope you never do.
