James H@Bruce_Toews @mcourcel Personal Mastodon instances don't require a privacy policy, at least if they're not hosted in the EU, but the big servers definitely aren't personal ones and I'm pretty sure the fediverse is headed for a compliance nightmare if we ever get the data privacy regulations we need. So I definitely get Bruce's point. People in glass houses and all that.
@acarson @Bruce_Toews @mcourcel I kinda hope you’re right, but I’m not optimistic. The EU will either go way farther than it should or not as far as it needs to. My instance is in Toronto and I’m not ruling out the EU trying to mess with it while trying to kneecap a bigger fish.
