@tobie1 Along with Biden winning the election, I also want Hamas decisively crushed and think Biden should quit trying to save them, to say nothing of attempting to shove a Palestinian state down Israel's throat because he wants to solve the Middle East. And he's absolutely capable of being crude, so no I'm not buying the "He's better than Netanyahu" bit. I get that you hate Netanyahu because it's the only lens you seem able to view any of this through. So after this I'm done with this particular thread.

@tobie1 Israel should not be asked to accept a Palestinian state immediately after October 7, and definitely not without conditions being met on the Palestinian side. Israel already tried this, up to and including complete disengagement from Gaza, and it got October 7 for its trouble. It's still trying to rid itself of Hamas, which Joe Biden is trying to prevent for some reason, otherwise he wouldn't have thrown such a fit about Rafah. And if he wants to solve the Middle East, he can quit trying to appease Iran and tell the PA to knock it off with the pay-for-slay crap and to knock off the incitement of their society's kids to violence or they lose all funding for a start. Instead he wants to put all his considerable pressure on Israel and none on Hamas or any of the other non-Israel entities involved.

@tobie1 Let me be more specific. The topic of a Palestinian state should be nowhere on the table at this point, and Biden should be making that clear. Instead he's pushing for a supposed path to one, which he has to know that no Israeli government is going to agree to, whether Netanyahu is involved or not. Because his domestic achievements aren't enough, and he wants to be able to crow about how he's fixed the Middle East.

@tobie1 If the PA is going to support terrorism then it should get its funding from somewhere else, not our tax dollars. If you ever want to get to a Palestinian state, then the support for terrorism has to quit being insentivized. If you have another way to do this I'm all ears. Re: appeasing Iran: The Biden admin has reintroduced the Obama admin's policies concerning Iran, which have already been proven not to work. It was one thing to try them out once, it's an entirely separate thing to do it again because surely the second time around it'll definitely work.

@8124 @tobie1 No, I don't hate Biden. But just because he'll get my vote doesn't mean I'm going to ignore that he's horrible at foreign policy while doing pretty good on domestic stuff. And, Israel maintaining security control with freedom of movement is not occupying Gaza. It can't leave a vaccume and it can't allow the PA to handle security until it's supposedly revitalized, whatever that means. Also, Biden approved Rafah after it already started and after Israel already demonstrated that it isn't going to intentionally kill non-combatants as it's been repeatedly accused of doing.
