Accessibility is such a broad topic that if you sell it as a feature, and management treats it like a feature, then it never ships because there's always something to work on and in the end the poll ends up being a feel-good bit for the company: "See? We asked our users if they want accessibility look at how awesome we are" and then it just keeps getting kicked down the road as too hard. Also, nobody would ever dream of going "Vote for whether or not our app/site is visually appealing" that just happens. Accessibility is supposed to be that way too and we're not doing anyone any favors by pretending that having a poll on it is something awesome. I'm also not saying that people should do anything like harass or anything remotely close because we don't like the fact it's being put to a poll. Just gotta put that out there in case anyone is tempted to get the idea to start doing stupid shit over this.

The point of yelling at them for it is that this is likely virtue signaling on their part unless there is some sort of action to back it up, and honestly if you're actually concerned about accessibility you're going to start doing the work instead of putting out a poll for everyone to use to make themselves feel better. And people are just tired of the virtue signaling and giving the benefit of the doubt to corporations only to have that doubt reaffirmed again and again.
