Whether or not changing the number of API calls used would do you any good depends a great deal on what server you're on. The default value for Mastodon installations is 300 calls per 5 minute slot on a per-user basis.

@rcusson No problem. I’m not sure what they have their rate limit set at but yeah I’d just leave it where it’s at unless there’s a compelling reason to change it.
