Shit, i just realized. Remember Brandolini’s law?
> The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.
LLMs becoming increasingly available has significantly lowered the cost of bullshit, making Brandolini’s Law obsolete, but not in the good direction…

.@shawnhooper @chris It'd be really neat if you could manually add book info to a bookwyrm DB, and then bookwyrm instances could share that info, thus crowdsourcing the book DB and lessening the problem. I'm not sure if that's a thing though that maybe I just didn't look hard enough for?
If you have 9 pinned chats in iMessage, who is in the chaotic evil slot?

.@shawnhooper @chris I will say though that despite the pain points with books and physical exercise posts which I still haven't found a suitable workaround for, I do not regret posting all my stuff to my own site first and then syndicating elsewhare after if I feel like it.
In reply to
.@chris @shawnhooper Yeah that's definitely a convenience.

.@chris @shawnhooper Yeah I was a Goodreads early adopter, and then it got bought by Amazon. It's kind of like with Facebook. I'd delete my account, except my spotify is tied to that account, and even if I want to I'm not sure I can switch my playlists to Apple Music.
I’m exhausted and kinda grumpy so I probably shouldn’t post this today but I will. We as blind people want to have our pictures described to us, which is great. But why then are we posting audio without descriptions of what the audio contains for those who can’t hear? We know what it’s like, so why are we passing that along to others? And we have plenty of characters so there’s no reason for links without any additional text. Too often we don’t think beyond ourselves.
In the wake of news about Thomas and Alito’s grifting this is especially troubling. If she had a billionaire benefactor it would be all right? Cyber director not approved for position due to personal debt.

House GOP: There’s no such thing as “systemic racism”, it’s a myth.
Also House GOP: “The military was never intended to be, you know, inclusive.” This amendment will block all military funding until the Pentagon gets rid of these woke diversity programs. “And it has nothing to do with colored people”

.@chris @shawnhooper Spotify for me was the exception to my not tying accounts together rule, because my cell carrier was involved at the time but doing through their site meant that you had to use a social log-in and I was already extracting myself from Twitter at the time so I had to go with Facebook or no account for me. Yeah it's one of two online things I'm still frustrated about.
In reply to
.@chris @shawnhooper Yeah I usually have some sort of music going most of the time so it's kind of a big deal.
In reply to
.@chris @shawnhooper I'm sure I'll figure out something though. I've kind of got a solution for pulling in my music listening, except it's not saving the taxonomy correctly so I have to manually modify it. Maybe I'll get some time at some point to fix the code.
In reply to
.@chris @shawnhooper Yeah pretty much.
In reply to
.@chris @shawnhooper Sure I'll gladly share if I can figure out why it's not saving properly.
Short-term climate survival pro-tip:
Cover your sidewalks and driveways in canola oil so if you fall you won’t stick from the searing heat from the pavement burns (a real thing ERs are seeing). Handy tricks learned from searing steak.
This is exactly right
Now this here is truly dystopian. LG, in their ever profit-seeking greed, has come up with Home As A Service. Yes, so not only do you buy the fucking appliance, you also buy a subscription to use it. What’s next? Your stove is going to advertise Campbell’s soup!? Yeah, fuck no!
