60 years ago, nearly 200 House Republicans voted not to protect interracial marriage in federal law.

Did I say 60 years ago? Sorry, I meant last week.

See also "Roe is settled law." "The don't say gay bill doesn't do that" and I have a great deal for you on your very own Brooklyn Bridge. https://t.co/0rG5OPYZH6

In the real world, doctors aren’t going to risk committing a felony. They’re going to wait until it is unambiguous and indisputable that it is an *emergency*.

Forcing doctors to wait for that point is forcing women to wait until their lives are on the knife’s edge.

i'm not enthusiastic about these tactics, but if your party's primary voters pick a guy because an attack ad points out that he's an extremist who trump favors (both of these things are true), that is *entirely* the fault of your own party's primary voters. https://t.co/RQ33wDRpZM

My broken record is that Democrats have to stop pushing stuff that'll alienate voters and be more moderate or they'll lose elections, and then Republicans go and say "hold my meth-spiked bourbon." Blake Masters? Herschel Walker? Democrats are thrilled.https://t.co/8fKFn7CKqC

ok sure, doctors are refusing to treat pregnant women experiencing deadly irreversible complications out of fear republicans will arrest them for murder but have you considered that dave chappelle had to change venues last week?

Although this article claims to be comprehensive, it ignores Texas' S.B. 8.

Under S.B. 8, doctors who terminate a pregnancy because of a medical emergency may face lawsuits. They must then prove—in court, by a preponderance of evidence—that the abortion was medically necessary. https://t.co/l0dZB2G86e

Texas doctors refused to terminate Elizabeth Weller's pregnancy specifically because of S.B. 8. If they had induced labor before the fetal heartbeat stopped completely, they would have opened themselves up to civil liability. That's the point of the law.https://t.co/lEHzy0WJ4H

There is also the problem with her last diatribe: She makes these “conclusions” about laws, even though she is neither a provider nor a prosecutor—the people who have to worry about whether their behavior could land them in court and the people who will decide who to prosecute.

This account ONLY exists to lie about abortion. There’s no way hospitals are going to trust the biggest liars on earth to not prosecute them. https://t.co/FEGQSIJmaY

Persuasive, peer-reviewed study showing that COVID originated in animals and crossed into humans via Wuhan's Huanan Seafood Market. Considers alternative theories, such as a "lab leak," and demonstrates that they don't make sense with the data. Only a zoonotic explanation does. https://t.co/nOdsk6BWtj

Sorry but I don’t buy the story about Chief Justice John Roberts trying in vain to preserve abortion rights. It reeks of a cleanup job from a PR agency, but hey maybe I’m wrong and the lifelong anti-abortion guy had a (quiet, unannounced) epiphany at age 67.

Dev: There should be an underline on this link.

Designer: There's a 3:1 contrast ration between link text and surrounding text, so we're ok.

Me: Unfortunately, I think WCAG is an ass on this point, but if we're going for WCAG conformance only, this will satisfy it.#a11y

D.C. press reporting about Trump returning to Washington with an excitement level that would only be appropriate if there was a warrant out for his arrest.

Biden is right to praise law enforcement for defending America on Jan. 6. But he's wrong to cast Trump as a passive observer of that day's events. That's not what the evidence revealed by the Jan. 6 Committee shows.
I don't think downplaying Trump's active malfeasance is helpful.

Maybe he should resign then and let Biden fill that seat. Otherwise, nice try at image repair. https://t.co/UOtgavWu8p
